The Densmore legacy
Densmore was founded in 1986 as the teaching partnership of Carol Jones and Bruce Densmore. The pair wanted a simple and effective course that helped students pass the UFE and earn their CA accounting designation.
Our beginning
Densmore quickly grew from one course offered in Ontario with 65 candidates to become the prep course of choice for candidates in the province. In the early 1990s, the company expanded to offer courses in Calgary, followed by Edmonton and Vancouver.
Our growth
Densmore continuously improved to best meet the needs of writers, including managing a seamless transition from the CA credential to the established CPA designation. Amie Lear joined Densmore in 2005 and was instrumental in developing Densmore’s online course offerings and transitioning the company’s resources to meet the requirements under the CPA Competency Map. In 2017, she became a partner in the firm with Carol, who has now retired.
Our reach
Today, Densmore is the largest provider of CPA education in Canada and has trained more than 35,000 students. Many large and medium tier firms exclusively use our resources for their CPA students.
